Our process

It all begins with an idea…

Each site is unique. It is the distinct combination of the client’s personal brief and the site’s location plus climate conditions that shapes every project. Our goal is to translate these three elements into a clear vision—and ultimately into reality—always keeping the budget in mind.

Because every client’s project is so different, each one is handled with individual attention and care from concept through to completion. We only take on a few projects at any one time to ensure attention is given to each client.

Stage A- Starting Conversation- Dream it

It all begins with a relaxed conversation….

It all starts with a chat, obligation free, for us to get to know you and understand your goals and lifestyle for your new home.

If you can, come along with a rough idea of what you’d like, a few photos for inspiration, and any site information you have.

This first conversation is important; it helps us to understand and start building a clear picture of the project together.

Stage B- Consultation Brief - Dream it

It all begins with an idea…. from the initial conversation…

  • Create a clear brief together

  • Building Goals

  • Site Information

  • Realistic Budget and Timeline

  • Concept presentation & Client Approval

Stage E-Construction Documentation - Construct it

Shaping into reality

  • Detailed working drawings & specification

  • Coordinate with engineers & consultants

  • Full documentation, including interior design documentation, so the builder can quote with clarity.

  • Documentation set for construction

  • Documentation set compliant to obtain Building Approval.

Builders & Costing - We know of a number of reputable builders and can provide referrals during the design stage if required. Ultimately, the choice of builder is yours, and we encourage clients to engage someone they trust and feel confident with. We recommend engaging one early in the process; that way, preliminary cost estimates can be considered while the initial design concepts are being developed. At times, plans are never realised because projects can easily become overdesigned and exceed budget constraints. Our goal is to have your project realised. The studio does not provide project management services currently. But we remain very interested in the progress of the project once construction begins, and are happy to assist with builders’ queries when needed.

Interior Design Option - We will outsource & consult with capable interior designers we know, or you may have one in mind. This is an optional service - a detailed specification document is prepared to assist builders in providing accurate cost estimates. By outlining the preferred finishes and materials, hidden costs are identified early, bringing greater clarity to the quotation for you & the builder.
